SUMMARY OF PROJECT

This was a challenging yet interesting project for our team and involved a stringent planning and consultation regime due to the complexities involved in a blow-down and the surrounding site constraints and sensitive receptors.

We carried out demolition works at the old Wade Spring Factory, Bennett Street in Long Eaton which had been destroyed by a fire and had stood derelict for a number of years. A 115ft (35m) Victorian chimney built in 1906 formed the final piece of work in the project.

We worked closely with the Canal and Rivers Trust, Specialist Traffic Management Company and the Emergency Services throughout this project.

The press and hundreds of local residents turned out to watch this successful demolition and it was watched by hundreds of thousands of people online too – our drone footage captured was featured on Notts TV, BBC East Midlands, BBC News, ITV Central, and RT UK.
