🚧 Demolition of 164ft Obsolete Chimney at Nottingham City Hospital! 🚧
We are thrilled to announce that we have been appointed as the demolition contractor for the 50m tall concrete chimney at Nottingham City Hospital on Edwards Lane. This project is a crucial step towards the hospital’s net-zero target, funded by a £25m grant from the public sector decarbonisation scheme.
Our team, alongside Churchill Specialist Contracting, have meticulously dismantled the chimney one concrete ring at a time using a “top down” demolition method. Given that this is a fully operational hospital, we ensured the work was carried out at optimal times to minimise disruption and to guarantee the safety of patients. The concrete will be recycled for reuse in the building industry, contributing to a more sustainable future.
