Kimberley Parish Hall: A Farewell and a Fresh Start

After nearly 60 years of service to the community, Kimberley Parish Hall has officially been taken down to make way for a brand-new Community and Business Hub.

TRD were delighted to be appointed as the demolition contractor for this important project, working on behalf of Broxtowe Borough Council. We completed the works one week ahead of schedule, and even managed to preserve a mature tree on site for future replanting, something we’re especially proud of. We also saved a dance hall ball and a piece of the original dance floor for an elderly lady who used to work at the hall, just one small gesture to honour the memories held within its walls.

The new hub will provide modern facilities for Kimberley Town Council, local businesses, and community events, helping breathe new life into the heart of the town.

If you’ve seen the photos, you might spot Lee Cross, one of our Site Supervisors, looking particularly pleased with the progress, and rightly so. It’s been a fantastic team effort from start to finish.

Builders, T&C Williams, have taken over the site, and it is hoped that the new building will be completed by May 2026.

The building, designed by Julian Owen Associates Architects, will be a modern 3-floor multi-functional building that will be a great asset to the town for years to come.

The Mayor of Kimberley, Councilor Tony Mason, said “This is a really exciting time for Kimberley and this building will be a financial asset to the community at large. The opportunity to host local events and bring income into the town through seminars, conferences and other functions is the aim of our motivated and enthusiastic councilors and the Council team.”
