Major Milestone on the Mansfield Connect Project Achieved
We’re delighted to have supported a major milestone on the Mansfield Connect project last week with our partner Kier Construction, with the safe removal of the structural steel beams that previously linked two bridges over Stockwell Gate.
Operations like this take a huge amount of planning, coordination and precision; our team and project partners spent weeks preparing every detail to ensure the works could be carried out safely at night in the middle of a busy town centre.
On the night, the team were on site until around 3am making sure the beams were removed smoothly and securely. It was a huge effort from everyone involved. Before works began, we joined Mansfield Mayor – Andy Abrahams, Geoff George from Mansfield District Council – My Mansfield and members of the project team for a quick photo to mark the moment.
The Mansfield Connect scheme is an important part of the town’s long-term regeneration plans, and we’re really pleased to play our part in helping move it forward. Well done to everyone involved. We’re looking forward to seeing the next stages take shape.
