Demolition of the derelict Victoria Hospital building in Mansfield, Nottingham
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has achieved a major milestone in creating the new Mansfield Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). We were the demolition contractor appointed to carry out the demolition of the derelict Victoria Hospital building to make way for this new healthcare provision.
Key Points:• Demolition Completed: The former Victoria Hospital site has been cleared, setting the stage for building works to begin later this summer.
• CDC Benefits: Even before construction, patients have benefited from over 38,000 extra diagnostic tests. Once operational, Mansfield CDC will offer one-stop access to tests and investigations, streamlining patient care.
• Sustainability Focus: The Trust prioritised sustainability during demolition, achieving a 90% recycle rate on-site. Loose items from the building were reclaimed and reused.
• Local Impact: Involving local contractors ensures community benefits from the project.
• Energy Efficiency: The new CDC site will feature improved insulation, stricter air leakage limits, and solar PV panels for energy savings.
